Welcome incoming 6th grade students!

Not all, but most 6th graders will be enrolled in Music Fundamentals every other day for the year. This class is an extension of the music education classes they received in elementary and will cover previous and new areas of music education in depth. The target standards of music fundamentals are:

-exploration of the many genres of music 

-music history and development through the ages

-music technology

-career opportunities in music

-strengthening music listening techniques and skills

-music as way of reducing stress and anxiety

HOWLS, the habits of work and learning, are continuously being assessed and worked on throughout the year. All teachers will guide your child, explain the school's expectations and continue to support them so they can achieve their goals in these areas.
